Cloisters April 2007
Welcome to Cloisters
Remember it's
Adult Learners' Week
from 19 to 25 May 2007
As I sit here in glorious sunshine writing this editorial, I wonder where the little April showers went? It's not just an early spring; summer seems to have arrived early in Scotland this year. I hope you are enjoying some good weather while you read this but that it doesn't stay too dry.
Our chemist, Alison Hennessy has a short article this month introducing the art of finding medicinal plants. You can also find out more during the Open Week as Alison is one of the tutors who will be supporting our visitors.
We are busily preparing some nice Open Week treats for you. There are some great ideas coming in from our tutors and we are hoping to improve on last year's great success. NCS founder Noel Chidwick has more information for you in this month's Cloisters.
We present a special feature this month. The other half of the founding partnership, Arthur Chapman, talks about our HUMAN approach to teaching and learning.
Paul's Bug-Eyed Monster Puzzle seems to have beaten our quizzers this month. All those prime numbers! We will have a new puzzle following our Open Week.
