Cloisters: Margaret, tell us a little about the course that you studied with the New Curiosity Shop.
Margaret: The course was 13th century
Scottish History, Braveheart and the Fight
For the Scottish Throne
Cloisters: What were you hoping to get out of this course?
Margaret: Knowledge of how to do a course on line on a subject I was interested in.
Cloisters: Was working on the Internet particularly helpful to you?
Margaret: Very: I am disabled and can
not attend classes so it was perfect.
Cloisters: How did it feel to be studying in the environment of the New Curiosity Shop?
Margaret: It was brilliant. Mr Lanigan
my tutor was so patient and kind especially when I made
mistakes . I really enjoyed studying with the New Curiosity
Shop. I learned a lot and was given an insight to study
on-line.
Cloisters: Where will your experience as a New Curiosity Shop student lead you next?
Margaret: I want to learn more about Scottish History but
not many courses are available on line. I have a particular
interest in Medieval History.
Cloisters: We'll need to see what we can do about that. Have you any advice for fellow students planning to take a course online?
Margaret: My advice would be take the course and enjoy every minute of it. The tutors are great and they will lead you in the right direction so you can work in your own time and at your own speed. I thought it was great.
Cloisters: Margaret, thank you for your contribution.
